John Condon, CLU
Founded Acadia 1990

John specializes in advising employers in the "Great North Woods", which stretches from New Brunswick, Canada across Northern New England into Upstate New York, on employee benefits. John founded Acadia Benefits in 1990 after working with Longley Associates since 1979. Prior to that, he spent 5 years with Hannaford Brothers. He graduated from University of Maine with a degree in Public Administration.

Victoria Ferentz
Team Member 1990

Vicki focuses on account management for all size groups, including customer service, new program implementation, and carrier relations. She also oversees office staff management and special projects. Vicki represents the firm as a member of the By Laws Committee of United Benefit Advisors (UBA). Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, she worked at Paine Webber for 2 years and G&S Commercial Brokers for 2 years. She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a B.S. in Sociology.

Robert Kennedy
Team Member 1995

Bob has over thirty years of experience in the employee benefits field. Bob assists customers on the design, implementation, ongoing service, and long-term strategic planning of their employee benefit plans. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, he spent 13 years working for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts and Maine. He graduated from Rollins College with a B.A. in Business Administration.

Scott McKee
Team Member 2003

Scott specializes in evaluation of benefit plan options, analysis of funding arrangements, benefit program implementation and administration, and account service management for our customers. Scott worked at Aetna, Inc. and Cigna Healthcare prior to joining Acadia Benefits. He attended Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.

Jessica Rainsford
Team Member 1999

Jessica is responsible for managing and aiding customers with on-going account oriented needs. In addition, she provides support to Account Executives preparing documents, presentations and customer communications. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, Inc., she worked for Aetna/NYLCare Health Plans for four years and Benefit Management of Maine for six years. Jessica graduated from Casco Bay College in 1994 with an Associates Degree in Business Management and Certificate in Travel/Tourism.

Paula Green
Team Member 2000

Paula is responsible for providing employee advocate services for Acadia Benefits’ customers. Her services include claims resolution, referral and authorization assistance, resolving issues pertaining to prescription coverage, surgery precertification, and, when necessary, providing physician office education. Paula graduated from St. Joseph’s College of Maine with a B.S. in Human Services. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, she worked for Martin’s Point Health Care and Tufts Health Plan.

Mary Brooks
Team Member 2001

Mary is responsible for all aspects of assisting customers of all sizes with design, implementation and administration of a comprehensive employee benefits program. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, she spent 5 years at Halkett & Towns/ Dunlap Corp. and 10 years at The Maine Center for the Arts. She graduated from the University of Maine with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Mariah Bowker
Team Member 2004

Mariah is responsible for directing the marketing team and managing the marketing process for all of our groups, small and large. She also operates as the account manager for our small groups, assisting clients and prospects with their employee benefits needs. Mariah has fourteen years of experience in the employee benefits field. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, she was a benefit analyst for an employee benefits consulting firm in Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Belmont University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science.

Susan Pineau
Team Member 2004

Susan is responsible for various business projects, such as: tracking and updating experience reports, completing annual health plan surveys, and communicating legal/government requirements with our customers. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, she worked at Anthem BC/BS of Maine for 10 years. She graduated with a B.A. in English from Bates College.

Sheryl Burns
Team Member 2004

Sheryl has 20 years of accounting experience with small to mid-size businesses. In addition to her work at Acadia Benefits, she is the CFO of a video production company. Prior to moving to Maine, Sheryl was the business operations manager for an insurance agency in Boston. She attended Massachusetts Bay Community College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Kate Malloy
Team Member 2011

Kate Malloy joined Acadia Benefits with over 6 years of experience in the employee benefits’ business. Her primary role for the company is new business development. Kate specializes in developing strong customer relationships, customizing benefit program offerings to best suit her customer’s needs, providing ongoing account service, and educating employees of their benefit offerings. Prior to working at Acadia, Kate gained experience on both the broker and carrier sides, creating a firm understanding and appreciation from both perspectives. Kate graduated from the University of Southern Maine.

Shelly Paules
Team Member 2012

Shelly’s particular expertise is in the strategy and design of employee benefit plans, as well as the ongoing evaluation, negotiation, and administration of the plans. She was the principal of two benefit firms before joining the Acadia Benefits team. She brings over 25 year of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, including 5 years in the home office of a major insurance company. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Colby College with a degree in Math and Administrative Science.

Kevin Kennedy
Team Member 2014

Kevin is responsible for assisting with the large to mid-sized accounts. While working with the Account Executives on various projects and presentations, he excels in public speaking and customer service. Prior to working at Acadia Benefits, Kevin was a Captain and Business Manager of a tour boat in the Kennebunk River. Kevin graduated from Arizona State University.

Ellen Greaves
Team Member 2015

As a Large Group Analyst, Ellen is responsible for the collecting and reporting of data for marketing employee benefit programs for current and prospective customers. In addition, she maintains open relationships with carriers to provide her team with current and new product details. Prior to working at Acadia, Ellen worked for Mercy Hospital, a division of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in Media Studies and a creative writing concentration.

Danielle Seidl
Team Member 2015

As a Benefit Analyst, Danielle is responsible for the marketing of employee benefits for our small group prospects and customers. This includes compiling and preparing benefits and cost data for presentation to the customer. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, Danielle worked for TD Bank and Gorham Savings Bank. She attended the University of Maine at Orono.

Sara Pinto
Team Member 2016

Sara is responsible for a wide variety of marketing functions to support Acadia Benefits’ business development team. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, Sara worked in various HR, Sales and Marketing roles for Orvis, Stratton Mountain Resort, The Woodstock Inn & Resort and the Seaport Companies in Boston. She graduated from Boston University with a degree in Hospitality Administration.

Derek Stevenson
Team Member 2016

As an Account Executive, Derek focuses on new business development. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, Derek spent 6 years with Unum where he served as an Operations Consultant, Underwriter, and Disability Benefits Specialist. He has experience working with groups ranging from 2 lives to 12,000. He graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.S. in Business Administration where he was also the captain of the tennis team.

Conner Kennedy
Team Member 2017

As an Account Manager, Conner works directly with our customers implementing and administering benefits programs. Prior to joining Acadia, Conner worked for UPS in Boston and was a foreman for a local landscape company. He received a Bachelor in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Conner is also a licensed health and life insurance producer in the state of Maine.

Katie St. Ours
Team Member 2018

Katie is responsible for the Administrative and Marketing Coordinator role supporting the Acadia Benefits’ team. Prior to joining Acadia Benefits, Katie worked as an Administrative Coordinator for Synergy CHC and worked on various brand marketing campaigns across the country. She graduated from FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles with a degree in Merchandise and Marketing.
